Announcements about scholarship/grants from the Foundation Gösta Skoglund's International Fund for distribution in 2018.
Applications for scholarships/grants must have an explicit link with the field of regional scientific research. Applications that broaden or invite new approaches are welcomed. Requests for scholarships can only be done independently. The Foundation supports specific research related to the activities of the Centre for Regional Science at Umeå University (CERUM), but does not exclude other applicants.
The Foundation calls for applications in:
Grants for conference participation for graduate students and researchers at Umeå University.
Grants are given to trips where the applicant actively participates in international conferences, seminaries, exchanges with other research institutions or study visits abroad. Allowances and salary will not be granted.
Essay prize for the best bachelor’s or master's thesis at Umeå University.
The foundation awards an essay prize, of SEK 10 000, to the student that have written the best essay on the bachelor's or master's level in the field of regional scientific research. The essay must be approved by thesis seminar during the academic year 2016/2017 and autumn 2017 and be written in Swedish or English. Nomination for the essay prize can be done by the teachers, tutors or students.
Grants for arrangement of a conference at Umeå University and for invitation of foreign researchers to Umeå University.
The foundation supports the invitation of foreign researchers to Umeå and the arrangement of international conferences and seminars in Umeå. Allowances and salary will not be granted by the Foundation.
Applications for grants from the Foundation and proposals for the essay prize holders must be sent the Foundation Committee no later than 17 February 2018. The application shall use a separate application form.
